As a decorator, practice, practice practice. I started as a designer. I started drawing and then sculpturing with clay. Fundamentals. Colors and textures are a plus. One of my major in college is Art. Sketching, clay, human anatomy, etc
Writing is key in decorating. Piping is essential and writing is a form if piping. I had to learn how to pipe on characters, Lay-in designs, and air brush backgrounds.
YouTube is huge for visuals, but I don't learn that way.
I had to do it and by practice is where my learning grew. Time is money, so my best suggestion is to grab a huge tub of icing , learn how to make piping tubes and spend your time practing.

You have a lot of skill and creativity and I will provide some advice for you to further diversify your culinary arts. You sound very open to learning new things as you perfect each different dish to add to your repertoire.
Jobs do not offer practice, but there are a lot of ways you can practice to become a chef and baker. If there is anything the internet offers it would be trillions of recipes and cooking/baking tips. If you are in high school or already at culinary school, you can ask your teacher if you can spend some extra time in an available kitchen after school to practice. Your family will be ecstatic when you bring home an awesome dinner for them !
You can also practice by watching the Food Channels and than going to their websites for the recipe that you can practice making at home. I have left a link for you below of some culinary tutorials on You Tube (I am sure there are millions like them there) so that is another way to obtain tutorials. You can also go to the websites Beyond Frosting, Udemy, The Spruce Eats, and Serious Eats. I have left their links for you below.
Think about planning some special family dinners for special days, too.
So, once you obtain a job as a chef or baker or both, you will no longer need practice. You will have perfected and shown your talent, creativity and know how. That's not to say that you will not constantly be learning new techniques, equipment, new foods, dishes and beverages. It is a career in which you never stop learning. Practicing will be for your time in school and at home before you get your first professional position. You will be expected to know your craft in order to be hired for a job.
