Here's an uplifting spin on your text:

The golden nugget of wisdom I always share with those aspiring to be leaders is to prioritize your team. This is rooted in the principle of servant leadership, where your role is to bolster your team members and place their needs above your own. Being a servant leader means embodying empathy, honing your listening skills, demonstrating flexibility, and maintaining self-awareness. When you fuel your team members' ability to excel in their roles, they will reciprocate by supporting you and the goals you're striving to achieve as a leader. You transition from being their "boss" to a catalyst that ignites their potential to be the best they can be. This leadership style is versatile and can be adapted to any managerial role.

Hi Leonel,

So great that you are thinking of this already! The most inspirational managers that I have had are managers that have empowered me and were willing to help the team with any task even if it was beyond the scope of a manager. You can empower others by delegating tasks to them and allowing them to determine how they plan to execute. This approach allows the person to feel more passion behind their work compared to being told exactly what to do. I also think you have to be flexible as a manager. People are more likely to be inspired if you are easy to talk to and open minded.

Love the insights shared above. Remember, a great leader is one who leads by example, always ready to undertake any task they would ask their team to do. Look around, there are inspiring leaders everywhere. Identify the ones you admire, pinpoint the qualities that draw you to them, and incorporate those traits into your own leadership style. Make learning a constant journey, as this will instill confidence in your team about your abilities. You don't have to master everything, but you should have enough knowledge to provide the necessary support to your team. Empower your team to make decisions, as this will pave the way for them to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Mike’s Answer

Great question. As a manager, you can inspire your team and the overall business by using these five strategies:
1) Understand what your team and business values. This will allow you to help your team use their skills to create value for the Business' customers while avoiding work that isn't value adding.

2) Know why you do what you do. This will help you and your team to understand your purpose in the business and your personal goals. Being able to marry those two will help you inspire others and to feel fulfilled in your career.

3) Create a purpose if none exists. Having a purpose will help you define the goals of your team and how your team supports the goals of the business while helping your team have pride in what they do.

4) Demonstrate hard work. Lead by example.

5) Build trust with employees. This will allow your team members to feel safe enough to be the best employee they can be.

2. They have realistic expectations about my workload and accomplishments.
3. They praise in public, reprimand/correct in private.
4. They never hesitate to help out when it is clear that more hands are needed to get the job done. Or, they will readily find someone to help you if they don't have time.
