I did my undergraduate work in homeland security and public safety, but for the forensic science majors, I would recommend University of New Haven. Since you are in NY, it would also be fairly close for you. I am a life long Connecticut resident, and Dr. Henry Lee is known globally for his advancements in the field. He gives a lot of lectures, and there are paths for various labs, international studies, and analytical techniques.
With any student, I always advise them to look at the curriculum and ensure that it aligns with your interests and career goals, but overall, New Haven is widely recognized.

Mara was a “victim” of microaggression in many ways. Mara was treated in an unfair and unjust way because the receptionist assumed that she spoke Spanish and was unable to speak English. As our textbook states, even the counselor was subtly using microaggressions against her. She was trying to only speak of things and deflect anything that showed their differences. A lot of times people are not conscientus of their microaggressions so it is very important to be self-aware. Trying to hard to be culturally sensitive can actually also be a microagression against a client. If microagressions are noticed then it is important to try and speak about it and try to fix it. This will help increase understanding, awareness, and empathy in clients. People want to feel validated and they do not when they are dealing with someone who is treating them in a biased or with microagressions.

The best college for a forensic major is subjective and depends on individual preferences. However, there are several well-regarded institutions known for their strong forensic science programs. For example, University of California, Davis, Pennsylvania State University, George Washington University, University of Florida, Syracuse University, Michigan State University, University of New Haven, Boston University, West Virginia University, and University of Central Florida. I recommend to thoroughly research these colleges/universities and consider factors such as program reputation, faculty expertise, available resources, and internship opportunities. Also, visit the campuses to get a feel for the environment before making a decision. Best of luck!
