Can majoring in communication design good skills do have when becoming a graphic designer?
I’m a 11th grade High school students. I am thinking of applying for an Art college and majoring in communication design. My career goal is to be a graphic designer.

I'd like to add that Design *is* communication. Good design communicates an idea or intention through the shapes, colors, alignment (and other principles of design) you choose in your work, for the audience to view.
But don't stop there.
Pairing Communication/Design skills with Technical skills is going to help tremendously. Learn tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma(free), Krita(free, photoshop-like software).
You can even tack on learning things learning some video or audio editing such as Adobe "Premiere" & "After Effects."
I took Digital Media Arts in College — Canisius College, Buffalo, NY — because I knew I wanted to go into an artistic field, but didn't want to linearly focus on "Studio Arts;" I wanted to expand my knowledge by learning computers: studying a bit of computer science (HTML & CSS), animation (in Adobe Flash, right at the tail end before they decommissioned it), and of course Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
I also recommend expanding your literary skills as well. Both reading and writing are great skills to have, not only in the profession of design, as copywriting is also a discipline within communication and design work, but just in life in general — You'll get much further in life through softskills such as public speaking, than any hardskill, such as "cool photo editing in photoshop," will get you. On top of that, and beyond simply reading from a book, is working on data analytic skills: by which I mean, knowing how to read a graph and understanding how to interpret it.
Basically, just keep studying design, and keep improving yourself to be a well-rounded individual.
