How do I find internships as someone who wants to go into web design?
Should I be cold emailing companies, and if so which ones? Or do you know of any? I'm a sophomore looking for something to full my summer with that I'm passionate about.

Hello! I’m glad that you are thinking about a game plan to your dream career now - that is a very beneficial mindset. Cold emailing does work sometimes, but another thing you can do is have a LinkedIn presence. Create a profile, make sure it’s all updated, and start connecting with those who work at your dream companies and other web designers. You can ask them about their journey, and see if there are any internships at the company they are working for! Also utilizing LinkedIn’s search bar for internships is also the way to go. Some search bar options: “design internship”, “UX internship”, “front end engineer internship”, “web design internship”

As I was looking for internships, I would look up companies that interested me and send an email about interning for them. This may work well for smaller companies as someone would be willing to respond. I did this two summers in a row while I was in college and scored two internships. Since you are from Chicago, there may be a lot of opportunities out there and companies looking for an intern.
