How can I make some income?
For reference: I am about to go back to campus, at the end of August. I have applied for some campus jobs, but until then I have been trying to find some online, remote jobs to work for. I just want something part time, until I begin my studies again.

All remote jobs include a lot of training. Companies need to teach you how to use their technology and what their expectations are. Working remotely for a few weeks would not work. If you can get a job in retail or fast food.

Hi, Alexis !
Sorry to know that you have been applying for a summer job but haven't obtained what you're looking for. The thing about wanting to get a job now and then to quit when you start back at school is that you have about four or five weeks before school starts again and even if you apply now, you do not know when you'd be hired and then it may be that you'd have to quit in three or one week. So let's look at what may be possible at this time. It sounds like you mean college so I will advise accordingly.
By now, have you applied for Federal Financial Aid, Work Study, Scholarships and Grants ? If so, you would be able to have a work study job once you go back to campus. Applying for financial aid, employment and scholarships need lead way and planning in advance so that you can obtain what you need when you need it. New York City also has a wonderful Summer Youth Employment Program which would have been a great opportunity for you to obtain a job. Please remember it for next summer and you'd have to apply in March or April of 2025 in order to be considered for it. This program places people aged 14 to 24 at various non-profit locations for work and the program pays you an hourly wage. I have left the link to this program for you for next year. Check back at that website around January or February of 2025. Always be aware of the deadlines to apply for something.
For the rest of the time you want to work, you may try registering with as many Temporary Employment Agencies as you can. This will depend on what skills and qualifications you have, that's why you should explore a great deal of them and cover a lot of ground. It's the best way to work a little and not have to give a long term commitment. Let them know that you want assignments that last a week or a few days.
Another thing that you can do to get some quick spending cash would be to have a garage/tag/yard sale. This is perfect because in New York City you do not need a permit for this so you wouldn't have to pay to have a tag sale. If you do not have a garage or backyard or the front of your home is tiny, ask a friend if you can borrow their yard to do this. Ask friends and relatives for items that are in good condition that they no longer want. If you make crafts or art, have some to sell at the sale.
If you wanted to try getting paid for watching videos or taking surveys (link is below) I would say it's an option, but explore these offers thoroughly before you start out. Many times, each thing you do pays a couple of dollars and it's a lot of computer time and they don't pay until you reach a certain amount. Then again, you'd have to most likely have a Pay Pal account or similar payment option which means you'd need a bank account. If you like doing this, you can probably continue it even while you're in school, but remember to explore all the details before committing yourself or doing any of the work.
Another way would be to find out who needs babysitters in your neighborhood and offer to babysit. You can also get the word out that you clean houses. These are things that you can easily stop doing once you go back to school.
I hope that this is helpful and I wish you all the best ! Have a great Fall Semester which is coming up sooner than we realize !
