Hello, Mo !
This is a good question and since you're not stating if this GPA is from High School or a college, it will take some exploring. If you are not familiar with either your high school's or college's grade point average system, this is surely the time to learn about it from an official representative of the school you are referring to. Someone at the Guidance Counselor office would explain it to you in a flash.
Ohio Public High Schools GPA system is on a 1.0 - 4.0 system as you've stated. The letter grade assigned to your number would be up to the individual school. Are you going to a private school ? Normally, if your average is 89 (no zeros necessary), that would be a grade of B+ or a GPA of 3.3, however you must double check that with your school guidance counselor. Only an official who provided you with the document can explain it. I am not sure how accurate online GPA calculators would be for your particular situation. It's as easy as just walking into the administrative office or the guidance office to obtain the right answer.
I had a situation that I had to figure out, too, when I was a college student. Originally from New York State, I went to college in the state of California. The first time I received my grades, I could not figure out what Units were. I thought they were called Credits, not Units, but that's what they call them in California. I got used to it, but it was something I was easily able to figure out.
So, if you go to your counseling office, they will be able to tell you exactly what your GPA is, explain their average processes to you and you will no longer wonder. They have your records so they can also tell you what your weighted GPA is. Ask them to explain what your GPA is on the 1.0 - 4.0 scale.
I just hope this gives you the encouragement to check it out with the school and I wish you all the best !

Hello! I am currently a high school senior. I misclicked on the college tag and forgot to take it out. I have spoken to my counseler but she hasn't done anything but tell me what i already know (that my gpa is an 89.000) so I'm really lost!
Mo
Wow, really sorry. You may want to go to your School District Office and speak to someone until you get it explained to you. Their contact information is at their website at https://www.macon.k12.ga.us/ Best wishes to you !

Hello Mo,
You should ask your school for your converted GPA score to a 4.0 scale, which will be helpful for you to know where you stand. I'd ask your guidance counselor or someone that works for the school's main office.
Hopefully this helps!
Thanks,
Johan
