Food service can be an extremely stressful job. Did you think it is not it will not be the right career path for you. When dealing with customers even if your food is made perfect some customers will still find fault with it which means they will complain and you can't very well tell a customer off if you want repeat guests or you want them to pay for the food that you prepared you need to make it right for him to their satisfaction if you want to have a good reputation in this business. There will be people above you that want it done a certain way. Do not and I can't emphasize this enough do not get strong willed and think you know better than somebody else that's going to be your first mistake. You need to learn from the people above you and teach your job to the people below you this is how you advance this is how you make a career

Carolyn’s Answer

The food business in general can be very stressful, but it can also be very rewarding. You need to be able to maintain calm under pressure, there’s no question. And that is not a negative. A good practice is stay focused and know you’re doing the best you can. A good chef operates on an even keel and with respect for the staff, so that even busy situations are handled without unnecessary drama. Personally I enjoyed the fast pace of a restaurant kitchen. Leader and your teammates are what make any job rewarding and fun. Attitude plays a huge role.
