As far as hygienic, I would not worry too much about the water unless you have a reason to be suspicious. We are hopeful that the drinking water is safe and free from harm and chemicals. I would suggest investing in an water filter for that extra sense of security. Always look and inspect your drinks and food. Although, most problems are not visible it will give you a sense of comfort if you are at least doing the most that you can to be safe. Additionally, search Amazon for portable water tester or online.

Hi Sam. A great question. I'm curious as to why you're curious? Is this for a class project, or just individual inqury?
As someone who used to work to helped develop the systems used for drinking water on the International Space Station, know that water quality in the US is relatively high. Also know, in the United States, we have the Clean Water Act and that there are drinking water standards through the EPA, https://www.epa.gov/dwreginfo/drinking-water-regulations.
Even with the standards, drinking water quality varies in different communities, and as Mandi Conger mentioned, in some places individuals manage their own water. If you are looking for the drinking water quality in Miami, Florida, you can go to Miami Dade County Water Quality reports at https://www.miamidade.gov/global/water/water-quality-reports.page. You can find most communities in the United States and elsewhere do have this information online. Also, if you're curious, even on the space station, they have a report. https://www.nasa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/calendar-year-2023-ccr-final.pdf?emrc=3d7032.
Stay curious.

Hi Sam! Might I say this is a unique question and a very good one. I believe that the water in different areas contain different things. For myself, I live in a very rural area and we have a well on our property, our water is not provided by the city because we live so far out of town, about 18 miles out in the country. We test and treat our water every year to make sure it is good and where it needs. I prefer this water over city water as it taste better to me and not like chlorine. Outside of drinking water at my house I also drink bottled water when we are out but only a specific kind. So I would like to think that most of the water I consume is clean and good for me.
