How many years of college do I need to partake in to successfully become a Social Worker?

I'm looking to be a social worker for teens who have struggled with past/present issues. Such as abuse, abandonment, mental illnesses, or even suicidal thoughts. I would like to know how many years of schooling after high school I should take to be successful in obtaining this job...
