Figure out what you like, but look around for the opportunities that abound. Do not enter college without a plan. I think that's asking to waste money. If you don't know what you want to do, take 6 months to a year working to figure it out. Working a sucky job can give you real focus to find a job you want to do regardless of pay. When you figure whatever it is, persue that career with a tenacity that you will do whatever it takes. Just because you like something doesn't mean you will not encounter adversity or it will come easy. You will encounter rejection. You will have days where it feels like hard labor, and you will have to push through and put in the hard hours to learn and better yourself.
But know on the other side, with hard work and tenacity it will pay off. As long as you keep putting yourself out there and always looking for opportunity.

You have to like it, and want to pursue a career on that, if not and if you're financing it with debt be careful on getting on debt for something 'just for fun'. If you want to calculate what salary would take to justify your debt calculate it at standupadvisors website, click: Calculate

Ultimately I believe your choice has to be something that your heart is in. Why spend 3 or 4 years of your life studying something you do not truly enjoy which may then lead you into a career path which will not make you feel fulfilled or happy. I have lawyer friends who did not study a law degree but did a conversion course and followed their career choice into law. Of course, ultimately you would want a degree that you would both enjoy and make you employable. Many jobs require a degree entry but what is key is the degree attainment not the subject matter. Maybe you need to consider what it is you want out of a future career - are you after a lucrative career or one that may not pay so well but will make you contented. That may help lead you in your decision making.
