Jason’s Answer

I personally don’t know anything about mechanics , but my cousin owns one. Every time I visit there is always cars that he works on and it piles up to a line. However depending on how popular your car shop is will reflect how much work you do daily.

Jeff’s Answer

It really all depends what you want to get into. There are all kinds of mechanics. Heavy Equipment mechanics, automotive mechanics, diesel mechanics. Then there are different environments within each. Dealership mechanics, independent shop mechanics, field service mechanics, fleet mechanics. Some rolls are more preventative maintenance and small repairs based, others are more in depth and major repairs. I know that when I was at the dealership the repairs started to feel very repetitive. You see a lot of the same things day in and day out. Especially warranty work. However, there are a lot of perks to working at a big dealership as well. You just have to decide what you want to do and go for it.
