WHAT are the benefits of being a cook?

What are the perks of the job as a cook?

Personally, I like to go out into the dining room and meet with my guest (I work in senior living). I ask them about the food, how I can improve it, and what they would like me to make. I get treated like a rock star because mealtime is the highlight of senior's day and by interacting with the diners, they feel important and part of the process. I feel like my job is more important than a restaurant chef because I know my diners and am a significant part of their lives as opposed to just throwing out some food to strangers and never seeing them again. People always will need to eat! If you find the work enjoyable it can be very gratifying and rewarding to meet the needs of hungry people. Kitchens in busy restaurants are fast paced (and hot), you have to have the right demeanor and attitude to find this type of work suitable. if you are looking to get perks, you are in the wrong mindset.
1st you will learn to cook different kind of food and dishes; you could be able to travel the world if you decide to do so and been good at your job.
remember that benefits and priviledges come from hard work not just showing up.

2nd maybe taste ingredients,drinks and dishes that you couldn't even afford in your regular life.

3rd it is a big and small trade,everyone know someone therefore it can work for you or against you.
