As a future civil engineering student, what things should i prioritize or focus on the most in college (Grades, Internships, hands on projects) in order to be successful in the future after graduating? Which would have the longest term impact on careers and what did you wish you focused on more in school?

I am a high school senior and I want to study and go into civil engineering, I know there are a lot of specialties in the field so I'm excited to learn more about them. I've shadowed a civil engineer which helped me understand the job more and made me more curious about the projects they work on.

What experiences, skills, and decisions had the biggest impact on helping you reach your current role as a mechanical engineer, and how could someone with my background best follow a similar path I’m a high school senior planning to study mechanical engineering, and I’ve explored a mix of hands-on and creative interests—band, CAD design, 3D printing, and running a small woodworking business making charcuterie boards. I enjoy learning across different areas and asking questions to really understand how things work. Why do you think certain experiences like internships, personal projects, or specific classes matter more than others, and how should I prioritize my time during college to build the strongest foundation for a successful career??

Is the ACE Mentorship Program good for Architecture? Are there any programs similar in Florida that are less of a time commitment?

Hello! My name is Sanvhi and I am a rising junior in high school the is interested in pursuing architecture in college. I have done online courses on platforms such as edX, but was hoping to have more real-life practice and experience in making plans, constructing models, etc. My only issue in participating in the ACE program in Central Florida is the time commitment, as I have practice afterschool most days. Has any student or mentor know what the schedule normally looks like, and if it possible to hold meetings on weekends? Also how good it is for architecture? Thank you!

What matters more? Education or experience?

I am currently a high school senior and plan to go into college to become a physical therapist, this question lingered on my mind if the experience in the field matters more than the education you learn in the classroom. Essentially I am wanting to see if hands-on and physically learning about physical therapy is better than learning from the books.

What is a good Career path for me ?

I am looking for a career path. I am in grade 11 and was going to be a child life specialist but I'd prefer to work in a smaller clinic rather than a huge city hospital as well as not go to school for 6 years lol. I am looking for all the jobs that could be in a small clinical setting that work strictly with children 3 years of school or less. Aside from that just jobs that work with kids maybe not in a clinical setting that are 3 years or less of school. Thanks!!

How can I determine what is the best kind of Engineering for me?

I know I have to go to college and get a Bachelor's degree and obtain my PE license, but I'm just not sure entirely of which specific Engineering degree I really want to pursue. I am stuck between a few kinds such as Civil, Electrical, Architectural, and Constructional. I love to work outside and to use my hands and to think.

Hi, I am a student from crane middle school and here is me trying to get help to be a robotic engineer.

Lately I’ve just been fixing random stuff like computers and electronics whenever they break.am very interested in engineering because I love building things with Legos. I enjoy designing robots, but sometimes another project I work on doesn't really come out as good as I hoped. When a robot doesn't work the first time, I have to look at the parts again and figure out which piece is causing the problem so I can fix it. This process helps me understand how the AI and the mechanics work together. I want to learn how to make my designs more reliable and professional. What skills should I practice now to get better at designing robots that actually work the first time?

What is the hardest part of being an Engineer.?

Hello, I am a 7th grade student at Crane Middle School, I was wondering what is the hardest about being Engineer. I was also wondering what a normal day would look like and if different types of engineers would need more or less education. Ever since I was little I always loved to make things out of empty can and old cardboard. I have always been interested in engineering and construction, I also love to learn how machines work like lawn mowers and weed wackers.
