Is taking a year out of university/college to gain a year of experience in industry really necessary?
Obviously gaining industry experience before graduating is great but how important would you rate it? Would it strongly differentiate between two potential candidates? How valued for a graduate job would it be? Even if the experience isn't completely relevant to the job. Are graduates looked down upon if they don't have any direct direct experience in a job environment in the field? I am mainly asking this from a computer science point of view, but of course other subject opinions would also be appreciated! #computer-science #job #graduate #graduate-recruitment #graduate-programs #industry #student-recruiting
Is it hard to manage playing a sport and being in college for nursing?
I am being recruited to run cross country and track in college and also will major in nursing. One coach flat out told me that nursing student runners do not last, but every other coach has not had a problem. I am looking to find advice from actual students. #nursing #nurse #registered-nurses #athletics #athlete #collegiate-athlete #student-recruiting #cross-country
What are some good jobs to get as a teenager?
I've never had a real job before, other than babysitting. It's hard to fill out a resume when you don't have any experience, and I'm not sure where to start. Some of my interests include theatre, running (track and field), and writing, so any jobs involving these things would probably be great for me. I'm also interested in working at a restaurant or clothing store. #jobs #sports #fashion #writing #theatre #first-job #student-recruiting #running
How diffucult is it to make it to a big name school (UCLA, KU, Akron, USF)
I want to go to a big name school, but my GPA and class rank are not so good. I live in Kansas, and about half the senior class in my school go to KU ever year. #college #student-recruiting
