When you were a student, did you do anything outside of school to build skills or get knowledge that has helped your career?
I built build-to-order computers from parts. This was a common endeavor in the 90s - more so than today where is is often more cost effective to purchase a pre-built system from a major vendor. Along the way i learned aspects of maintaining customer satisfaction, managing post-sale expectations, negotiating with vendors, and making a sales pitch.
