What made you do this this Career?
What made you do this this Career? i love baking and cooking because i believe it's a way to express my art as well as my creativity! It's also a way to show my love for food. i love cooking to enjoy making new meals from where i am from, Mexico. I enjoy seeing meals from all over the world. I can also learn from my cooking mistakes and do better next time. There are many benefits for cooking and baking. For example, you can stimulate your brain, you actually know what you're putting in your body, it's basically a life skill, saving money, being creative, and lastly you get to enjoy your cooking!
I started out like everyone else that spent their life in the fluerescents and quarry tile.. dishwashing. I loved my $2.20 an hour and having money for concert tix and beer. I kept at it after my football playing days ended in college. Looked forward to getting up at 5am to go to work before classes.. love being in the kitchen, the work , the whole scene. Then I got a great Chef who told me I knew nothing ( even though I thought I was the bomb) and he would train me . He did and I loved it even more , the cooking , the ordering, the menus. First Chefs job at 23 ( meaning it was my kitchen , ran the way I wanted) not today when everyone who drops a basket of fries is called a Chef. It was no longer a job to me it was a lifestyle. It became who I was as much as what I did to survive. Ruined many good relationships( lots) but I kept cooking, training , leading. The ability to help those who went to learn and excel is tops on my list. I've trained some of my cooks children in the kitchen. It's simple actually, to do the job well you have to give up most everything else for a while to become the best you can be to pass it on to the people who make you who you are
