What steps need to be taken to open your own daycare?
I am interested in starting up my own preschool or daycare and I am not sure where to start to get that process going.

Contact the city/state that you reside in to inquire about requirements needed for starting/operating a daycare. You will need to have an updated first aid/CPR certificate. The state allocates the amount of hours you need to have completed for Early childhood education. I would suggest that you go to work at a daycare to see if this is something you want to do. It takes alot of commitment. Many of the early childhood education courses can be taken on line. However the state will dictate if the courses needed to be complete in a person environment (classroom setting) . Good luck.
Thanks for the help.

I am not an expert in this field. Do not take anything I say as any form of legal advice.
The rule will vary depending on where you live. I believe each state sets their own rules and requirements. A quick google search for "How do I open a daycare in <my state>" will probably get you a lot of info.
You should also consider if you want to go it alone, or purchase a franchise (I assume there are such things). Each has their own sets of advantages and disadvantages. Research both options there as well.
