James’s Answer

I use AutoCAD to draw plans for my clients. Sometimes ideas do just begin as rough sketch on a paper tablet, but once I have information about the site, jurisdiction requirements, and the clients scope I move to CAD. Some firms now are using Revit or other BIM software, which if you are still in school I would look into becoming familier with those programs. Beyond drawing get prepared to read as I see you are in Stockton and there are many sections to the California Building Code that will impact your design not to mention local municipal requirements. Anyway I hope that helps.

Hello Fai,

Could you please clarify if it's technical or civil architecture design? There are numerous types, such as network, solution, or civil architecture.
