Hi, I would suggest reaching out to a culinary institution to see if there are opportunities where you are. I started my career and goals in culinary and realized after a short time it was not for me. However I love to cook and explore new recipes. Talk to people in the industry around you and see what their advice is, who knows they may hire you for an apprenticeship to get your foot in the door.

I see two primary paths.

I'd start by learning to cook on your own to see if you even enjoy it. You can watch cooking shows and find recipes online. Do you like the foods you prepare and do others? If you find you have a talent and interest then maybe see if you can get a prep job at a restaurant to learn more. You may have to start washing dishes and work your way up.

Alternatively, you can enroll in culinary schools like https://www.chefspencil.com/13-best-culinary-schools-in-the-world/ but I assume those come at a significant cost and may not be easy to get in. The schools where its easy to get in may not provide job prospects as well as the top schools do.

Hey Isaiah,
What I did, was an Internship, which helped me a lot. Also specialize as early, either in vegan, allergic or specific dietary food. Don't rush for a career or payment at the moment, just watch and learn. Save recipes, and developed it on your own. Your reputation is important in our field. Focus on High end places, it takes you to bigger steps.
