What is the best way to find merit-based scholarships?

I am thinking of going out of state for college because I like the architecture program set up at Virginia Tech, compared to in-state schools. I fall outside of the financial aid category for college but out-of-state tuition is still costly and I would like to know where to find more merit-based scholarships to help offset the cost of out-of-state tuition.

Should I be saving the money I earn for college?

I'm an upcoming junior in high school and I work a minimum wage job. It's more of a part-time job or internship, but I've been saving most of my paycheck for college because I'm almost terrified of not having enough money to pay for it. I've been stressing over finances and scholarships and I haven't even started my junior year in high school. But a part of me wants to save the money just in case I need it when I'm older, although there's another part of me that just wants to be a kid and spend most of my paycheck on things I like.

Is the college I go really so important?

I know that some colleges are better than others but at the end of the day is it just about the degree? Lots of people tell me it doesn’t matter where you go as long as you get the information. But there’s a reason some schools costs so much more- is the quality of education worth it? I don’t want 4 years to cripple me financially, especially if I’m not sure what it’s worth. #payingforcollege #college #financial-planning #college-tuition
